Extended Family Session at Millerton Lake | A Reunion 10 Years in the Making
This session was incredibly special and meaningful to be a part of. I had previously photographed this sweet mama during her newborn session, so when she reached out again and shared that her family was finally getting together after 10 years of not being together, I didn’t hesitate for a second. She told me they wanted to cherish this rare and beautiful moment by doing an extended family photo shoot, and I immediately said, yes — absolutely, let’s do it.
We chose a stunning hillside location overlooking Millerton Lake, just outside of Fresno. The views were absolutely breathtaking — rolling hills, the lake stretching out below us, and the iconic tabletop mountains in the distance. It felt peaceful, open, and perfect for a session that was all about connection, togetherness, and family.
From the moment we started shooting, the joy was undeniable. We shared so many laughs, stories, and genuine moments as the family soaked in the fact that they were all finally together again. These weren’t just posed photos — they were real, meaningful moments filled with love, history, and appreciation for one another.
Extended family sessions like this are some of my favorites because they capture something truly irreplaceable. Time passes quickly, families grow and change, and having everyone together after a decade apart is something that deserves to be documented and remembered forever. I felt so honored to be trusted with such an important milestone.
What made this experience even more special was hearing how much they loved their final images. Knowing that these photos will live on in their homes and hearts as a reminder of this long-awaited reunion means more to me than I can put into words.
