There are some sessions that stick with you forever, and Ridge’s adoption day was one of those unforgettable moments. I had the honor of photographing this beautiful family as they finalized the adoption of their sweet little boy, Ridge, at the courthouse. After a year and a half of love, laughter, and waiting, the official paperwork was signed, and he was officially theirs.
As a family photographer in Fresno, I’ve captured many milestones, but this one was truly special. Adoption photography is about so much more than just posed portraits — it’s about documenting the emotion, the tears, the hugs, and the pure joy that comes with becoming a forever family.
Inside the courthouse, I snapped the precious moment when Ridge’s adoption became official. I’ll admit, I had tears in my eyes behind the camera. To witness the love this family has for Ridge and to capture the moment their hearts and lives were forever changed was an honor.
After the ceremony, we headed to a local park to celebrate with family photos. Several loved ones came along to be part of the occasion, making it even more meaningful. Ridge was full of energy (as most toddlers are!) and kept us on our toes. Instead of trying to slow him down, we embraced it — running, playing, and laughing right alongside him. Those candid shots of his joyful spirit are some of my favorites.
