Photographing engagement sessions is always special, but this one meant even more to me because it was for one of my longtime friends. Not only did I get the honor of capturing their engagement photos, but I’ll also be photographing their wedding day, which makes this season of life even more exciting and meaningful to witness alongside them.
When we started planning their engagement session, she shared her vision of wanting open fields, wildflowers, and a dreamy natural setting—and I immediately knew exactly the vibe we were going for. We found the perfect location surrounded by beautiful scenery, soft wildflowers, and golden light, and everything came together so effortlessly.
From the moment we started shooting, the entire session felt lighthearted, genuine, and full of joy. We laughed so much, ran around the fields, did some silly prompts, and captured so many candid moments that truly reflected who they are as a couple. One of my favorite things about photographing engagement sessions is getting to see a couple’s connection through a different lens—watching the way they naturally interact, support each other, and simply exist together.
There was something so special and rare about the love these two share. It felt calm, genuine, playful, and deeply rooted in friendship, which made every image feel emotional and authentic. Those are the kinds of photos I strive to capture—the in-between moments, the laughs after the poses, and the little glances that say everything without words.
Being trusted to photograph such an important chapter in one of my friend’s lives means more to me than I can put into words. Walking through this process with people you care about so deeply makes photography even more rewarding, and I’m beyond excited to continue documenting their love story on their wedding day.
This engagement session will forever be one of my favorites—not just because the photos came out beautifully, but because of the memories attached to them and the genuine love shared throughout the evening.
