Inclusive Family Photography in Fresno | A Session Filled With Joy, Understanding & Candid Moments
A couple of months ago, I received a message from a mom who wanted updated family photos, but she shared something that instantly touched my heart — her daughter has special needs, and in the past, it had been difficult to find a photographer who could not only be patient, but also truly understand her daughter’s needs.
I immediately told her, “You reached out to the right gal.”
Outside of photography, I work with children with special needs, so working with children of all abilities is something I do every single day. It’s not just something I’m comfortable with — it’s something I’m passionate about. The relief she felt was instant, and I could tell she finally felt seen.
The Family Session
Fast-forward to the day of the session, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Rather than forcing stiff poses or expecting “perfect” smiles, we let the girls be completely themselves. We embraced movement, laughter, and all the little in-between moments that make family photos real.
Some of my favorite images were the candid ones — the kind where everyone forgot about the camera and just enjoyed being together. You could feel the connection in every frame.
Why This Session Meant So Much
Being able to not only photograph this family, but to connect with them on a deeper level, reminded me exactly why I love what I do. For families with special needs children, finding a photographer who understands sensory needs, communication differences, or who simply knows when to pause and reset — it matters. It makes the experience peaceful instead of stressful.
When the mom told me how thrilled she was with both the session and the final images, my heart melted. These are the moments I live for.
