One-Year Super Bowl Cake Smash | Fresno, CA Family Photographer
Getting to photograph the same family over and over again is one of the greatest joys of my job, and this one-year cake smash session in Fresno, California was extra special. I’ve had the honor of photographing this sweet family throughout the past year, so when mom reached out with the idea of a Super Bowl–themed cake smash for her son’s first birthday, I was absolutely over the moon. She always comes up with the cutest and most creative themes, and this one was no exception.
We held the session in the comfort of their home here in Fresno, CA, which made it easy for their little guy to relax and be himself. I set everything up while mom added the perfect personal touches. He wore the most adorable onesie with his name and a bold number one on the back—such a sweet detail for celebrating this huge milestone. Once the cake came out, he didn’t hesitate for a second. Frosting-covered fingers, curious expressions, and pure joy filled the room as he happily dove into his cake.
One of my favorite moments from this Fresno cake smash session was when big brother joined in. Capturing sibling interactions during milestone sessions always tugs at my heart. These candid moments—the laughter, the mess, and the love—are what make family photography so meaningful. Watching this family grow over the past year and being trusted to document these memories is something I will never take for granted.
